The best advice I have come across for this pesky problem is to mask or distract - white noise (or some other colour as they have different frequency ranges) *look up "colors of noise"

I recommend David Gibson’s book The Complete Guide to Sound Healing in physical form for off screen time & pdf for easy topic searching. I use this often as I’m researching.
